Amidst fear and uncertainty, the absconded father of the multiple twins returned home to the warm embrace of his wife and children, 3 months after.
The runaway father, Emeka Uche, after days of urging by his wife Ruth, agreed to return home, but to a new home, a yet-to-be-painted mini-flat somewhere in Ogun State.
The Uches, before now stay in Agege on the outskirts of Lagos. Mrs. Uche, a teacher, had two sets of twins. Another set came in February, which made the husband to run away from his family.
According to the father of the multiple twins, he contemplated committing suicide on several occasions as he cuddles the twins for the first time since they were born 3 months ago.
Narrating his ordeal he said he left for the village as a confused man, only to return to Lagos and stay with a friend within the community in Agege. That he was just too ashamed to return to his abandoned wife and children after about 3months.
It will be recalled that the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, weeks ago played host to Mrs. Ruth Uche and her three sets of twins, who were abandoned by her husband, Mr. Benjamin Uche. Her visit was a follow-up to a directive by the governor of the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, that the woman and her children are rehabilitated and assisted by all relevant government agencies to ensure they are in good condition.
The Deputy Governor, added that Ambode had approved the release of some amount of money, which would be paid into an account and part of it would be used to attend to some of the immediate needs of the children and their mother, adding that officials from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation had been directed to provide the necessary logistics support to her.
Also,it would be recalled that the runaway husband, Emeka Benjamin Uche,39, abandoned his wife Ruth, 34, from Abia State since February when he learnt that his expectant wife was carrying a set of twins the family’s third.
Mrs Uche was at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa with her set of twins {six children}, pleading for assistance.
In 2009 when she first conceived, she was delivered of two girls Goodness and Godnews. The second conception, two years later, produced another two a boy and a girl, named John and Joyce. But when her husband, learnt that the third pregnancy was another set of twins, he fled their number 32, Awori Street, Agege home at the outskirt of Lagos to an undisclosed location in Ikorodu, Lagos. The third set of twins arrived last month. They were named Daniel and Daniella.
Now, the Uches new abode is situated in a developing area, the newly built bungalow has three flats.
