Senate President Bukola Saraki yesterday expressed worries over the abandoned N500million worth television studio built by the National Assembly for in-house broadcast of legislative activities.
Saraki, who last week discovered the abandoned project during his tour of facilities at the premises of the NASS, vowed to investigate factors that contributed to the abandonment of the TV studio.
The Senate president, on his tweeter handle yesterday, said he was informed that up to N500 million was spent on the now abandoned project during the seventh Senate.
“I was told up to N500 million was spent on it. We will look into it to find out the true situation of things,” he said.‎
Saraki also assured that the NASS would continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari‎ on his war against corruption by enacting appropriate laws and giving proper oversight to government agencies.
“‎On President Buhari’s anti-corruption war, we will support it and will continue to do so by enacting appropriate laws and giving proper oversights to all the MDAs.
“We have kick-started the process of restoring public trust, that the 8th Senate will only make people oriented decisions,” he added.
