Scores of people are feared dead following a bomb blast in a Shi’ite procession in Dakasoye village in Garun Malam Local Government Area of Kano State, on Friday.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Muhammad Katsina, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Friday, said the incident happened around 2 p.m.

Although he declined to state the number of casualty, Katsina said the police was still trying to defuse another bomb planted ahead of the procession.

“We are at the moment trying to defuse another bomb which was planted ahead of the procession along the road,” he said.
