Senator Representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Ali Wakili has donated three million Naira (N3m) ‎for Ramadan feeding to 23 different Mosques in the state.
Senator Ali Wakili, Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation, while disbursing the funds to the beneficiaries Mosques at the central mosques Bauchi yesterday, said that his main target is to assist the poor people especially those who have nothing to eat during the fasting period.
The former Customs officer represented by Special Assistant to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Mohammed Aliyu Songai explained that the gesture would soon reach other several mosques in Bauchi South senatorial district.
He pointed out that during the sharing of the funds, some mosques would get N150, 000.00 while others would get N100, 000.00 for the feeding of people in various mosques.
“Because of the hardship facing the people in the state, we have to bring our little token to help people during the Ramadan period by providing them with feeding, especially physically challenge and the Almajiris ones, “ he said.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Shehu Musa said that Senator Wakili has proven to be a man of his words as he fulfils his promises made during campaigns.
He called on other well to do Muslims and good spirited individuals to emulate the good effort of Senator Ali Wakili by providing foodstuffs to the less privileged ones, who cannot afford the daily meals, while assuring that the funds would be judiciously utilized.
