The senator representing Kano South senatorial district, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya has described the demise of the deputy governor of Borno State, late Zanna Mustapha as a rude shock.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant on Media and Strategy, Prince Idris Afegbua, Senator Gaya said that the news of the death of the former deputy governor was received with rude shock going by the stern task before the administration to return peace to the state.
The senator described the late politician as a role model and a gentleman of indescribable status. The senator also described the death of the former deputy governor as a permanent loss not only to his immediate family, the state or the APC but the entire nation.
Senator Gaya who was former governor of Kano State said that the death of the former deputy governor occurred at a time his role was most needed to assist his boss, Governor Kashim Shettima to stem the tide of insurgency in the state.
He said that the death of the politician was untimely as his indefatigable commitment to duty was playing a significant role on the path of returning peace to one of the restive states in the North East.
The senator prayed that the Almighty grant the soul of the politician Al-jannatul Firdaus and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.
He also commiserated with Governor Shitema the state executive council and entire citizens of the state over the unfortunate incident. He sent heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late deputy governor and state.
The former deputy governor died in Yola, Adamawa State capital on official assignment. Late Zanna Umar Mustapha was in Yola for two weeks, where he received Boko Haram victims from the state that were returning from Cameroon at the Yola camp of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP when the unfortunate incident happened.
