Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abia Central of Abia State, Hon Acho Obioma has blamed the present fuel scarcity across the nation on bad leadership and mismanagement.
Obioma, in a chat with newsmen at Umuokpara, Umuahia expressed surprise that an oil producing country like Nigeria would suffer scarcity of a product from its soil.
He likened the situation to a farmer whose children are dying of hunger, describing the development as unacceptable.
According to him, “the hike in price and scarcity falls back on the leadership of the country; the claim that the opposition is behind the scarcity is to me fallacy.
“You are in charge, you know where the problem is, nip it in the bud; when you fail in your responsibility you blame opposition; if opposition is in a position to do this that means they have the solution to the problem.
“You give the Nigerian people the impression that you are weak and opposition is strong,” he said.
He said the government had explained that the high cost of crude was responsible for the subsidy and now that it crashed the product could not be found, describing it as fallacy.
