The semifinalists have emerged for the 2016 All Nigeria Secondary Schools Football Championship tagged NNPC/Shell Cup.
The quarterfinals matches were concluded at the weekend in four cities across the country.
At the Katsina center, Fosla Academy Secondary School, Abuja won 3-2 against Government Secondary School, Kwankwaso to make their way into the semifinals.
It was a keenly contested match as the boys from Kano took the lead on two occasions forcing the Fosla Academy Boys to come from behind to equalise the two goals and eventually score the match winner.
Government Senior Secondary School, Darazo, Bauchi won 5-3 the quarters contest in llorin against Government secondary school, Gusau while Excel Education Centre, Port Harcourt piped St. Marys High School, Ifitedunu, Anambra state 1-0 in Benin to book their ticket to the last four of the annual football showpiece.
The last quarterfinals match played in Osogbo saw Asegun Comprehensive High School, Ibadan emerged 2-1 winners against Pakoto High School, Ifo, Ogun state.
The semifinals matches will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday, June 14 while the grand finale comes up on Friday, June 17.
Part of the highlights of this year’s final is the usual coaching clinic that precedes the matches. The clinic will be conducted for players and coaches by youth coaches from Feyenord FC, Rotterdam.
