Military troops fighting Boko Haram terrorists in North-East Nigeria said they had arrested five suspected terrorists in an operation in Gudunbali in Baga Local Government Area.
Media coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Tukur Gusau said in a statement yesterday that troops of 115 Task Force Battalion under 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force had arrested five fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists and a family of a terrorist after they were abandoned due to military offensive.
“The family includes a woman and four children; they are currently being catered for and investigated in a military facility,” Col. Gusau said.
The soldiers also cleared Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, buried along the road that linked new Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in Borno.
The statement said that the 5 Brigade of the Nigerian Army after clearing Boko Haram terrorist camps in Kerenowa in Borno, had also embarked on clearance of IEDs buried along the road.
“The troops have also been working tirelessly to destroy all IEDs making facilities found in the area,” Gusau said.
