Adamu Erena, the President of the Nigeria Squash Racket Federation (NSRF) has been impeached by his colleagues on the board for alleged various offences.
According to a source close to the Federation, “lt took board members to write a joint letter to the National Sports Commission (NSC) to protest against the one-man business that President reduced the board and management of the game to.
Since the inauguration meeting of the board almost two years ago, we have had only one meeting. That was why the moment the NSC enforced this meeting, those of us in the country did everything to be present.
It is true that the President was impeached. Five of us out of the eight present voted in favour of his impeachment. Two voted against it and he could not vote because he has no voting right.
Rotarian Femi Aiagbe moved the motion for the impeachment which was seconded by Mohammad Mujadas. Coach Pat Atusu was on national duty in Congo Brazzaville but he sent his proxy decision by the impeachment process.
Upon the impeachment of Erena, Torchukwu Adrino, the first Vice President, was mandated to take charge. He rejected the offer. Present in the meeting were Messrs Edem Selong, John Joshua Akanji, Bola Magaji and Engineer Adeyela.
The other two members absent were reported to be out of the country when the impeachment took place. They are Messrs Inyan Nderem and General Yusuf.
