A group under the name, Coalition of South-South Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Elders, has called for the dissolution of Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu-led PDP National Working Committee, NWC.
The group also is calling for the immediate inauguration of a technical committee, to work towards re-positioning of the party, to ensure victory in the next four years.
In a statement signed by its spokesman, Chief Tamuno Tekena, the group said it arrived at the decision, at the end of its meeting in Port Harcourt
The statement also noted that the elders of PDP in South-South were currently consulting with South-South governors such as Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State and other south-south state governors, as well as the governor-elect of River State, Barrister Nyesom Wike, on how to move the party forward.
The group also stated that it had held consultations with other renowned elder statesmen in the region among whom are Chief Tony Anenih, and Chief Edwin Clark in reaching its decision.
