Anka local government area in Zamfara State in collaboration with the state government has expended about N2.8 billion for the construction of township road in Anka town, the headquarters of Anka local government area of the state.
This was made known by the council Chairman of the local council Alh. Mustafa Muhammad Anka, in an interview with Nigerian Pilot in his office yesterday, stressing that, already the contract had reached 85% percent of its normal completion.
He said, the aim of the contract was part of the state government bid to ensure all the 14 local government councils’ headquarters have been transformed and reconstructed with good looking road network in order to compete with any other modern cities in the country.
The council Boss further informed that, his administration has embarked on rehabilitation and reconstruction of Anka, Bagega and Rafin Gero market with a view to ensuring that all the major markets in the local council have been transformed to modern one and ease business transactions among the marketers not only in the local council but to the state as a whole.
On the local council election scheduled to hold on the 25th June this year, the Chairman said he is still on the race to re-contest for the second term if given the mandate by his people in the local council, to enable him complete all the ongoing projects he embarked upon.
He also commended the 36 states Governors for their resolve to endorsing Governor Abdulaziz Yari as NGF Chairman, describing their decision as great achievement to Zamfara State and Country at large.
