A coalition of South-South and South-East people under the auspices of Neighbourhood Watch have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the activities of agitators for the Sovereign State of Biafra and stop the proposed one million match fearing that it could lead to anarchy in the country.
National Coordinator of the group, Charles Inko- Tariah told Nigerian Pilot Saturday that the coalition have been watching the unpatriotic activities of the so-called IPOB against the Nigerian State and would no longer sit down and see a few disgruntled and unguided people drag Nigerians to a state of anarchy ad lawlessness.
“We condemn in unequivocal terms the increasing trends of violent protests and lawlessness in various towns and cities, disturbing and creating panic amongst the people and most especially the proposed one million Biafra match against Nigerian State. We condemn the so called Biafra radio designed to blackmail, disunite and run down the Nigerian State.”
Inko-Tariah said the coalition would not support the indoctrination of innocent Nigerian youths who are being recruited for another round of terrorism in the country.
“We believe in Nigeria and sovereignty. We therefore use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians both old and young to stand up and defend the Nigerian project for we cannot afford to have more IDP camp and our children being refugees in a strange land.”
The Neighbourhood Watch said President Buhari and all security agents to rise up to the imminent challenge to national unity and diversity by precise move to curb the menace of those agitating for the State of Biafra.
“We believe in the ability of President Buhari to develop the economy of the country, the anti- corruption drive and the patriotic bid to recover all stolen funds for the overall interest of the country.”
