PSC redeploys promotes AIGS, 37 CPS

Suspected cattle rustlers have killed Police Inspector and nine members of a vigilante group in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident occurred at Rugu forest while the security agents were patrolling the forest.
Nigerian Pilot learnt that the killing of the Inspector and the vigilante members had thrown fears within the people, especially those living close to the forest.
It was learnt that a team of security operatives comprising the army, civil defence, police and vigilante members retaliated, leading to the death of many cattle rustlers.
Speaking on the issue, Governor Aminu Bello Masari who confirmed the killing of the Police Inspector said government would not relent in its effort at crushing rustlers.
He lamented that the activities of cattle rustlers had destroyed farm lands and forced many innocent people to flee their homes for safety.
Masari, who spoke at a parley to mark his one year in office yesterday, said his administration spent N48million every month for allowances, feeding and provision of other logistics to the team of security personnel patrolling Rugu Forest.
“We are working with other states of the North- West zone for the fight against cattle rustling. We agreed to provide funds jointly for the feeding and the allowances of security agents patrolling Rugu Forest.
The governor also said many suspected cattle rustlers were arrested by security agents and prosecuted.
He vowed to deal decisively with any individual or group of people sponsoring cattle rustling in the state, as he called on the people of the state to assist security agents with vital information on the hideout of criminals.
