Gov. Aminu Tambuwal has signed the Sokoto State 2008 Local Governmet Amendment Bill into law.

A statement issued by Imam Imam, the governor’s spokesman and issued to newsmen in Sokoto, said that the governor signed the bill into law on Thursday.

It said that the new law provided for timeline for the disposal of election related matters at Local Government Election Tribunal.

It quoted the governor as saying at the occasion that the new law would strengthen the local government structure for efficient service delivery to the people. (BRM)
