Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has sworn in new Secretary to State Government, SSG, Mr. Anthony Jellason.
Performing the ceremony in Government House yesterday, the state Governor who urged the new SSG to do his best in coordinating the activities of the state government, said the appointment of Jellason from other qualified sons and daughters of the state as the SSG was informed by his commitment in his areas of endeavour.
Governor Ishaku who informed that things would no longer be ‘business as usual’ during his administration, added that all hands must be on deck in order to surmount the daunting challenges staring the face of the state.
The governor who lamented that he inherited a state which is ‘politically and economically battered’, expressed confidence that his administration would overcome with commitment and support of the people.
While responding, the new SSG expressed appreciation to the governor for the appointment and pledged his unflinching loyalty to his administration.
The SSG who sought the cooperation of everybody appealed to all labour unions currently on strike in the state to come to a round table with government for discussion.
Mr. Jellason, Nigerian Pilot learnt, was Commissioner for Agriculture during the administration of Governor Danbaba Suntai. He was sworn in by the state Chief Judge, Justice Josephine Tuktur.
Meanwhile, governor Ishaku has also approved the appointments of Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa, and Sylvanus Giwa as Chief Press Secretary, and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the governor, respectively.
The media chiefs – Mijinyawa and Giwa – had held the same positions during the administration of former Governor Suntai and the immediate past Ag Governor, Danladi.
