Tax Appeal Tribunal, Abuja, on Thursday ordered Hotel Ladon Ltd to commence the settlement of N6.8 million tax liability to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS.
The instalmental payment would commence in April and terminate in September.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that the terms of settlement were worked out between both parties.
Mr. Nnamdi Ibegbu, the Acting Chairman of the tribunal, adjourned the matter till May 6, for continuation of hearing.
He advised the management of the hotel to contact the FIRS so as to speedily resolve the matter.
The FIRS had earlier filed a notice against Hotel Ladon for defaulting to pay N1.5 million for Company Income Tax, N302, 906 for Education Tax, and N4.9 million for Value Added Tax.
The amount was for 2010 to 2013 assessment years.
Mrs. Naajatu Bashir, counsel to FIRS, told the tribunal that FIRS on April 7, received the reply to an acceptance to start the payment of the tax liability.
Mr. Aloysius Ezenwa, counsel to the hotel, told the tribunal that they were comfortable with the six months instalmental payment granted by FIRS.
