The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Gabriel Olonisakin, has commended the field commanders and troops fighting Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East.
The CDS hailed the troops fighting spirit and for maintaining the momentum in their effort to wipe terrorists from Nigerian soil.
General Olonisakin gave this commendation yesterday while holding a brief with principal staff officers and senior officers of the Defence Headquarters.
He said all hands must be on deck to ensure that the presidential directive of ending terrorism is achieved.
According to a statement by the acting Director, Defence Information, Colonel Rabe Abubakar, General Olonisakin unveiled his vision for the armed forces which is “to ensure a well motivated, trained and equipped armed forces that is responsive to national security commitments.”
The CDS emphasized that the pursuance and drive of all operational responsibilities of the Defence Headquarters would be guided by the vision.
He urged all personnel to redouble their efforts and ensure that the confidence reposed on the military is not shaken.
