Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has urged the people of the state to thank the Almighty God for having him being part of the federal government delegation to the United States, US, recently as the state stands to benefit from foreign investors expected to the state in no distant time.
Al-Makura was among the delegation that accompanied President Mohammadu Buhari on a four day working visit to the US.
The governor, who made the assertion while answering questions from journalists in Lafia, the state capital, on Monday, noted that apart from the exposure he gained on behalf of the state, he had the privilege to understand the concept of bilateral collaboration and cooperation.
He added that the US trip gave Nasarawa State the opportunity to highlight some of its potentials.
“We were also able to scout those that are highly interested in partnering with the state to exploit or work together with us on these potentials for the benefit of Nasarawa and the country at large in terms of revenue generation.”
The governor pointed out that apart from the general discussions; he was able to identify few entrepreneurs and investors who have what it takes to actually prospect some of these solid mineral resources in the state.
He expressed optimism that in the next few months, Nasarawa State will witness avalanche of people who will be coming to collaborate and partner with the state for the purpose of exploiting the mineral resources of the state.
