Three persons, including a teacher, Mr Chimezie Peter-Nwanyanwu, a primary school teacher, are currently fighting for their lives in an undisclosed hospital after hoodlums attacked Ezekala Igbodo community in Etche Local Government area of Rivers State.
Gun attacks in the state had abated recently after the state government declared amnesty for cultists as a way of combating such attacks and other insecurity in the state.
However, Nigerian Pilot gathered that the gunmen, suspected to be assassins, invaded the community, in the early hours of yesterday, shooting sporadically to scare away people.
A source from the area who spoke to this reporter under condition of anonymity for fear of attack said, the hoodlums, came in a motorcycle and shot to scare away residents before attacking their victims.
Reports from a community in Etche Local Government Area of rivers State indicate that three people were attacked by suspected assassins in the area.
It was also reported that the victims were rushed to hospital by passerby and re lying critically down.
