The Okaijesan of Esanland, and the Ojirrua of Irrua, Alhaji WO Momodu II, has commended the Speaker, Edo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Sabor Tiger Edoror for his selfless service to widows and the down trodden in general.
The traditional ruler, who urged the Speaker to continue to use his office to take Esanland and Edo state to greater heights, said this conferring on the Speaker the title ‘Atanapa (Tiger) I’ of Esanland.
”When I decided to honour him, as one of my palace chiefs, I pondered on the title to confer on him; and judging by how he has fought the cause of others, I decided to confer on him the title, ‘Atanapa I of Esanland’.
The Okaijesan of Esanland used the occasion to thank the people of Esan Central Local government area for voting en masse for Rt. Hon. Edoror in the last election that gave him the mandate to represent the constituency for a second term.
Responding, Edoror appreciated the monarch and the people of Esanland for their support and prayers for him; and promised to ensure that the confidence reposed on him will not be betrayed.
The Speaker said; ‘it is not by coincidence that today, I have been conferred with the title, the ‘Atanapa’ of Esanland and I know that with this title, comes some challenges…’ Acknowledging his position as a call to service, the Speaker said his dedication and determination to the uplift humanity, stems from his conviction that he is destined to fight the cause of others.
Finally, the Edo Speaker emphasised that the economy of this nation cannot continue to dwindle in this manner, we must all embrace change, saying, change is what his title, the Atanapa I of Esanland is associated with.
The title ‘Atanapa’ of Esanland is the second chieftaincy title that has been confered on Rt. Hon Victor Edoror in recent time, as it would be recalled that he was, not too long ago, confered with the title; The ‘Ofure’ (Peace) of Ugbegun by the monarch of Ugbegun, His Royal Highness, S I Obade II JP.
