SOCIAL critic and former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has stated that he is constantly criticising Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State because of his nonperformance, alleged corruption and ineptitude, contrary to insinuations that he is being sponsored to do so.
“The truth is that I am allergic to false propaganda, deceit and brazen criminality by people who use God’s name to deceive and mislead our people,”Tsav said.
The retired police chief, who spoke in a press statement made available to Nigerian Pilot in Makurdi yesterday, said he will continue his critiquing as long as people engage in wrong acts, stressing that no name calling or threat would stop him from doing that.
Tsav who is currently the Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission in Benue State said he deeply sympathises with Gov Ortom and his foot soldiers for their ignorance, brazen mischief and narrow mindedness for alleging that he has been bought over by the opposition to criticise the governor and his administration.
He said: “When I criticized George Akume, who sponsored me? When I criticized President Goodluck Jonathan nonstop, who sponsored me? Must I be sponsored before I criticise nonperformance, corruption and ineptitude?
“Is the battalion of cyber thugs supporting Ortom on Internet and abusing elders not sponsored by Ortom? Abubakar B. Tsav is an accomplished elder, a person of contentment and therefore too big to be sponsored by anyone.”
Tsav said he supported President Mohammadu Buhari in all his attempts to become president at a time many opposed him and called him names, but said if the president veers off the expected track, he would not hesitate to criticise him to high heavens and damn the consequences.
“This is my position. I am not into partisan politics and therefore not sponsored by any opposition. I act according to my perception,” he said.
