A commissioner in the Public Complaints Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has called on the Department of Petrol Resources, DPR, in Benue State to halt the hoarding of fuel in the state.
Tsav, who made the call in a letter addressed to the director of DPR and made available to Nigerian Pilot in Makurdi, the state capital, yesterday, said information at his disposal indicated that some of filling stations which had fuel only sold to black marketers at night or at the early hours of the morning in order to maximise profit.
He said, “This is not only illegal and dangerous but also constitutes social injustice to the people of the state.
“It could also cause outbreak of fire, especially now that the harmattan is now blowing in and endanger lives and properties of the citizenry.”
Tsav, who is a retired Commissioner of Police, described the development as act of corruption and said it had made the people of the state to go through hell.
