Social critic and former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in relation to cases against former governors.
Tsav who spoke in a press statement made available to Nigerian Pilot in Makurdi, Benue State capital yesterday, said if such investigations were made in the past, corrupt and unpatriotic officers in the anti graft agency and people like Sen George Akume should have been in prison.
“I made eight separate statements to the EFCC and even made a pledge that if I lied in my petitions against Akume, I should be prosecuted. Nobody did or challenged me.
“There should be no scapegoat if the war against corruption is realistic. Akume should tell us why he did not complete and commission Annune Juice factory and NYSC orientation camp during his time.
“He should tell us why he did not order the investigation of killings of youths in his local government. He should tell us what efforts he made to prevent Fulani/farmers clash in Guma, Tarka, Buruku local government areas which fall within his senatorial district,” Tsav enquired.
He, therefore, advocated for social justice in the face of change in order to discourage Akume who he described as a noise maker.
