Turkish authorities on Wednesday in Istanbul blocked Twitter and restricted access to Facebook over security concerns.
The opposition described it as an attempt to prevent the circulation of images of a bombing that killed 32 people in south-eastern Turkey on Monday.
The restrictions were ordered by a court in Suruc, where on Monday a suicide bomber thought to be associated with the Islamic State extremist group killed 32 activists.
They said the authorities were also trying to prevent organised protests in response to what some Turks perceive as the government’s failure in preventing the attack.
