Two Policemen lost their lives while trying to prevent an alleged assassination attempt on the Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Chief Remember P N Ogbe at his residence in Amassoma.
The bloody but unsuccessful assassination attempt was carried out by unidentified gunmen who invaded the premises of the Chairman at about 8:55 pm on Thursday and made frantic effort to shoot directly at the Chairman.
But they were, however, prevented from doing so by the gallant Police officers who engaged them in gun battle for 30 minutes and in the process lost their lives.
