*Says the bank discovered the mistake after 4 years
*Reveals the error was also ascribed to 27 other accounts
*Insists error was due to bank’s migration from ‘Pinnacle – 7 to 10’
OUTRAGE has continued to trail the shocking revelation by the Managing Director of First City Monument Bank, FCMB, Adamu Nuhu that the bank made an error of posting a whooping N573 million into the church account of Prophet Emmanuel Omale.
Nigerians from all walks of life have taken to social media condemning Nuhu’s disclosure, describing it as an insult to the integrity and sensibility of well meaning Nigerians among others.
Others who took to Facebook and other social media handles were of the opinion that the bank manager resorted to the error posture for lack of how to explain to the world how such huge amount was paid into a church account.
It will be recalled that the Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets, PCARA had accused the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, of allegedly using Omale, the founder of the Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry to launder funds abroad.
According to PCARA, the suspended acting EFCC Chairman allegedly purchased a property in Dubai, using Prophet Omale’s name.
This has however been vehemently denied by the Prophet.
Magu is currently being investigated by a Presidential Panel headed by Justice Ayo Salami who is also former President of the Appeal Court for allegedly mismanaging funds recovered by the anti-graft agency.
While testifying before the Presidential Panel, Nuhu said that the FCMB just discovered the mistake upon invitation by the Panel, four years after the money was posted.
“On January 16, 2016, we made a return to NFIU which indicated that there was a transaction of an inflow of well over N573 million (N573, 228.40,” Nuhu was quoted to have said.
“This return was said to be in favour of Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry’s Account number 1486743019.
“After that report, we conducted an investigation and discovered that the lodgement which we reported to NFIU was an error.
“The error was as a result of the fact that we were using a bank application called Pinnacle-7. However, we migrated from that application to a newer version called Pinnacle-10.
“Usually, when the bank intends to migrate from one application to another, we utilize weekends to carry out the exercise. The migration involves moving all the balances of customers from the previous application to the new application. The account of the Divine Hand Ministries was moved during that migration.
“It was that balance of N573million that was wrongly posted as an inflow into Divine Hand Ministries as reported to NFIU. This error was not peculiar to Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries alone but was also ascribed to 27 other accounts,” he added.
It will be recalled that Prophet Emmanuel Omale had said he cannot deny Magu because he is a prophet sent to everyone and not just Christians.
In a sermon to his congregation, Omale said he does not launder money for anyone and described the allegation “as a lie from the pit of hell,” stressing that Magu is not the only Muslim who has come to his church and got “results.”
He continued: “You see what is going on, on social media. Listen, I don’t launder money for anybody, it is a lie from the pit of hell, I have sons all over the world and I pray for them. They call me for advice, for counseling and I pray for them and beyond.
“This altar is for everybody. It is for Muslims, it is for pagans and Ibrahim Magu is not the only Muslim that used to come here, sleep here, talk to God and they have result.
“There is nobody that will watch my YouTube page and not follow me by force. There is nobody that will see my face that will not love me.
“My face was everywhere – publicity. No doubt about it, I can’t deny him like the way I cannot deny all of you.
“I’m a prophet to everybody. Omale is not for only Christians, Omale is for Muslims, is for pagans is for everybody. This is a house of God; we don’t force people to give their lives to Christ.
“Prophet Omale represents Jesus on earth. If you fight me, you are fighting Jesus,” he declared.
