Biafran Leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has announced the indefinite suspension of the three-day prayer and fasting summit earlier scheduled to commence yesterday in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The prayer summit which was to hold at the Ojukwu Memorial Library, Owerri, at the instance of the Biafra Independence Movement, BIM, was part of preparations for the forthcoming Biafran general elections.
Uwazuruike, who disclosed this to journalists yesterday in a phone chat, said a new date would be announced after proper consultations.
The founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, said the postponement was in good faith.
“The prayer session has been postponed, we would tell you when we have fixed another date, but for now, it has been postponed indefinitely. The prayer was to give spiritual backing to the proposed Biafra election scheduled for February 22,” he said.
He hinted that over 1,000 clerics and notable men of God drawn from across the nation are expected to grace the summit whenever it holds.
