Former senate president, Chief Adolphus Wabara has called on Abia residents to vote for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu during Saturday’s governorship polls.
Wabara during media briefing addressed by the residents of Aba and members of the Ngwa Union in Aba said that Ikpeazu was a man of character whose administrations will bring relief to Abians.
He said that a vote for Ikpeazu would be a vote for equity, fair play and justice in Abia if residents of Aba and other zones joined in the vision to give Abians a governor from Abia South.
He said that one of the contestants throwing money around who has denied his ancestral home in his quest for power is a character that will make life hard for Abians if allowed to get there.
Wabara said that Okezie Ikpeazu was the people’s choice hence his candidacy, which is aimed at giving Abians in all the three senatorial districts equal opportunity.
Meanwhile, foremost Abia elder statesman, Elder Emmanuel Adaelu has said that in line with the vision of the forefathers of Abia state, it was the time for Abia South to produce a governor hence their neighbours should vote Ikpeazu as governor.
He begged the Ngwa neighbours not to subvert the will of Abia State people in the coming elections by ensuring they give their mandate to Ikpeazu.
Adaelu said that the PDP governorship candidate’s victory at the polls on Saturday would result in the resuscitation of dead and ailing industries owned by the state.
He also said that it would guarantee the rebuilding of roads, hospitals, markets, improvement of the state’s educational system and restoring the days of agricultural development in Abia.
Adaelu said that the bond between the zone and other zones in the state would blossom to greater heights if the other zone would arise and vote Ikpeazu in the next elections.
