All Progressives Congress, APC, has vowed to prosecute security and electoral officials engaged in electoral malpractice.
APC national vice chairman (South-South), Prince Hilliard Eta who disclosed this in Calabar said the party would not condone electoral fraud in the April 11 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.
Reacting to alleged falsification of results during the March 28 elections, he accused some security operatives and INEC officials of compromise.
Eta advised members of the public, especially the electorate, “to report any case of compromise by electoral or security officials in the next elections to the party.”
According to him, “Particulars of such officials whether of the police, army, Department of State Security, DSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, or the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should be forwarded to the zonal or national headquarters of APC for collation and transmission to the central government for necessary discipline action to serve as deterrent to others of their kind.”
The APC zonal vice chairman noted with concern the high level fraud and violence perpetrated during the presidential and National Assembly elections, warning that “no such that will longer be tolerated.
“For purpose of emphasis, electoral fraud of whatever magnitude will be seriously viewed as an act of corruption and will be treated as such by the incoming government.”
