Rapper, CDQ has revealed why he did not end up as an HKN hang artiste.
The rising ‘local’ rapper who was a guest on HipTV‘s Next Rated recently explained how it all happened.
According to him, “I got a text from Davido one morning, and he was like we should have a meeting. So we set it up and he wanted me to join HKN gang but unfortunately, I already signed to General Records, owned by Masterkraft so we couldn’t make it happen.” But for CDQ, just the fact that the possibility of joining the HKN Gang came his way is a delight. “I still look back to that period as one of the biggest surprises of my career because I didn’t expect it.”
CDQ inked a deal at General Records in 2013 and together they’ve made a number of popular songs including the hit, ‘Indomie’ featuring Olamide which also has Davido on the remix.
