Why we want Candido out of AMAC, Mgbako

Tribunal grants APC order of substituted service on Gov. Emmanuel

As the polity heats up towards 2019, culminating in party primaries and preparedness for elections, an FCT All Progressives Congress, APC stalwart and elder statesman has enumerated reasons why Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Abdullahi Adamu Candido should not be returned as chairman.

Ambassador Ayuba Mgbako said Candido has not performed and should not be voted back as chairman, calling on AMAC residents to vote another APC aspirant who is youthful and digital, thereby understands what it is to run a modern city which AMAC should be.

The Gbagyi elder statesman who was Ambassador to the Gambia during President Olusegun Obasanjo in a chat with some journalists in his Garki 11 residence said: “Candido is not performing, there are lapses in his administration with lopsided appointments, if we have him as chairman, it will be very difficult for President Muhammadu Buhari to win the forthcoming elections in AMAC.”

Speaking further, he accused Candido of not being a party man and not working with the party stakeholders.

He said Candido’s visions are not sustainable, being the reason why things like AMAC Marshal, Environmental Sanitation Marshals, AMAC Investment and Property Development Company among others have not worked.

Mbgako also observed that even the market he is building is causing more harm as it was borne out of selfishness and targeted at benefiting and bettering the lives of those who are in the market. “Maybe, he is not knowledgeable enough to govern a local government,” Mgbako concluded.

As alternative, the Ambassador presented Solomon Ngbako who happens to be his biological son. He said the young Mgbako has what it takes to lead a city like AMAC, having been in Banjul, capital of the Gambia, a smaller West African country where the city is well managed, the UK , US and Dubai.

The Ambassador praised President Buhari for signing the Not Too Young To Run Bill into an Act which the son is latching on and that AMAC would be far better run and would be made conducive for residents as so much innovations would be witnessed with the young Mgbako as chairman.

He also threw his weight behind the direct primaries used in electing candidates for the FCT and insisted that even for the council polls, direct primaries would also be adopted as it was best for democracy.
