Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the successful hosting of the Holy Ghost Rally of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, RCCG, in Port Harcourt means that peace and development have come to stay in the state.
Addressing the Holy Ghost Rally of the RCCG in Port Harcourt on yesterday, where the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye ministered, Governor Wike said, “I know, with the Holy Ghost rally, peace has returned to Rivers State.
“Peace and development will continue to be in this state as a result of the Holy Ghost rally”.
He prayed God, to always protect and preserve Pastor Enoch Adeboye, to continue to serve humanity with God’s words.
Governor Wike assured the RCCG members that, the traffic situation around the stadium would improve in 2017, as alternative routes would have been constructed.
Preaching on the topic, ‘The power in the right hand of God’, Pastor Enoch Adeboye stated that, God has the capacity to do the impossible, and transform any situation.
Pastor Adeboye noted that, the Port Harcourt Holy Ghost rally, was the first time the programme would be holding in the morning time, which translated to unique visitation of God to the area, and prayed God to always bless Rivers State, and ensure that His will is done for the state.
In a related development, Secretary to Rivers State Government SSG, Chief Kenneth Kobani, has declared that the superlative infrastructural development of Governor Wike administration has revived the hitherto moribund economy of the state.
Addressing journalists on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Chief Kobani said that the strategic execution of projects in different parts of the state has empowered the less privileged and the people experience a new lease of life.
He observed that Governor Wike in the past seven months, had executed projects and programmes contained in his development blueprint, the ‘New Rivers Vision’, with the people of the state being the prime beneficiaries.
The Secretary to the State Government, particularly commended the Governor’s commitment to the development of the state, despite the economic downturn in the country.
According to the State’s Scribe, “Governor Wike has completed more than eighty kilometres of roads in four local government areas of the state, and has started the implementation of the roads connecting local government areas.
“We have a governor who is the best in this dispensation. He is the only governor currently executing high class capital projects in the country. This is because, Governor Wike is committed to the implementation of the ‘New Rivers Vision’ Development Blueprint, and he has been able to prudently manage the scarce resources that have accrued to the state.
“The flag off of the Igwurita-Chokoko-Etche road is the beginning of Governor Wike’s reach out to all the other local government areas of the state. The Sakpenwa-Bori road is also scheduled to commence, while he has introduced a boarding school system, to improve learning in our secondary schools “.
He said that Governor Wike transformed Rivers State into a centre of positive development, despite inheriting a debt ridden state, where all arms of government were crippled, due to the poor leadership skills of the immediate past administration in the state.
Chief Kobani said: “Governor Wike’s popularity is at an all-time high index, because he has worked for the people. He has demonstrated that, the people made the right choice by voting for him in April 11, 2015. Our governor has proven to be a worthy governor, who has given leadership a new meaning, impacting on the lives of the people positively.
