Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has felicitated with Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri .
In a Sallah goodwill message, Governor Wike congratulated the Muslim faithful, for the successful fasting period and its attendant benefits of purification.
He called on all Nigerians, to draw the lessons of piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence with others, tolerance, honesty and dedication derived from the teachings of the Holy Prophet all through the Ramadan period.
The press statement noted that, the governor assured that his administration would continue to promote religious tolerance and the right environment, for the freedom of worship.
In a related development, the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Brother Felix Obuah, has congratulated the Muslim community in the state.
In his goodwill message to the Muslims, he thanked the Almighty Allah for ‎His steadfastness and love for the Muslims and all Nigerians, for another opportunity to renew their faith in him, according to the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
The PDP chairman prayed that the heart desires and hopes of the‎ Muslims faithful, for undertaking the spiritual exercise, would be granted by the almighty Allah, whose love for his children never fails.
He also enjoined them to use the holy period of Ramadan fasting, for inner reflection, and make a – u-turn‎ from human imperfections, to do that which is right and pleasing before God.
Brother Obuah assured them of support, and reminded them of their civic responsibility to be law abiding and peaceful, bother their private and public conduct, so as to create atmosphere of peaceful co-existence with others.
