A domestic disagreement over the right to use a clothes line in their compound has resulted in the death of a woman in Ilutitun-Osooro in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to information available to Nigerian Pilot, the
disagreement led to a scuffle between Mrs. Omolere Iwajomo and a lady simply identified as Morayo, leading to the lady severely biting Iwajomo during the scuffle.
The incident, according to a source, occurred around 7pm last weekend along Marlet Road in the town.
A Biology student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, and second child of the deceased, Olajimi Iwajomo said there was a scuffle between his mother and Morayo over a dress removed from the line, resulting into teeth bite on Mrs Omolere which eventually led to her death.
“As it was about to rain around 5pm earlier that evening, l went to remove my clothes from the line, but discovered that Morayo’s clothes too were there.
“As a good neighbour, l equally removed her own clothes since she was not around at the time. I thereafter went out and later received a distress call from my mother and I returned home.
“I got home and discovered that both my mother and Morayo were sprawling on the ground but paid attention to the latter who appeared to be in a worse situation.
“Until we got to the hospital before teeth bite was found on mama who had remained unconscious since the incident happened.
“Eventually, she died around 6pm in the hospital at Okitipupa on Monday evening,” Olujimi narrated.
The Divisional Police Officer at Ilutitun, DSP Kehinde Fabunmi said that the case had not been at the station as at 1:30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Fabunmi urged residents of the town to promptly report all forms of criminal activities to the police as he is poised to reduce crime to the barest level.
