A 27-yeAr-old woman, Shade Ademola, was on Monday charged before an Ota Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly damaging a generator valued at N45,000 belonging to one Toyin Damilare. Ademola, who lives at No. 29, Abule-Ewupe Road., Ota, is facing a charge of damaging a generator. The prosecutor, Sgt. Itaita Ebibomino, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 14 at about 7:00 p.m., at Abule-Ewupe Road, Ota. Ebibomino said that the accused unlawfully damaged a big Tiger generator valued at N45,000 belonging to one Toyin Damilare. He said that the offence contravened Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Chief Magistrate Funke Odubanjo granted the accused N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum. Odubanjo said that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and be gainfully employed. She also directed that the surety should swear to an affidavit of means and produce a proof of one year tax payment to the Ogun State Government. She added that the surety should submit four recent passport photographs to the court and the address should be verified by the police.
