A 35-year-old woman whose name was given as Nneka Ifeoze from Nkwere in Imo State but resident at No 3, Ava Okocha Street, off Mount Street, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, has been arrested by operatives of the state police command for allegedly using a hot pressing iron on her house help, which caused bodily harm.
It was gathered that the victim identified as Oluebube Orji, a nine-year-old girl who also hails from Nkwere in Imo State, is said to have gone into the black book of her madam on April 24, 2016, at about 8pm, as the madam allegedly came back to discover that her two-year-old boy under the care of Oluebube was allegedly assaulted and also that Oluebube ate the food meant for her child.
Irked by what the girl did, she became angry and headed for the plugged pressing iron, unplugged it and used it on Oluebube.
According to a release from Police Public Relations Unit, the madness exhibited by Ifeoze left little Miss Orji with a serious burn capable of deforming her for life.
Meanwhile, the victim has been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attentions.
