Young women have been advised to abstain from prostitution; drug abuse, trafficking and other form of criminal activities, Group Managing Director, Nanet Group, Mr. Ini Akpabio gave the charge while receiving the Executive members of Young Professional Ladies Association in his Abuja office recently.
Akpabio who was represented by the company’s General Manager, Business Development, Mr. Denis Tar stated this shortly after receiving a certificate of recognition on behalf of the Group Managing Director, Ini Akpabio on his contributions to the success of Governor Udom Emmanuel at the April 11 gubernatorial election in Akwa Ibom state.
Tar charged the Nigerian youth’s especially young ladies to be focused on their educational as well as business pursuits of their choice as parts of efforts to be prepared for future challenges, rather than being engage in prostitution and other form of vices.
According to him, if you want to succeed in life, you must keep away from crime, don’t keep bad friends, don’t join gangs and be focused on what so ever career and business of your choice, saying there is need for the ladies to plan their future.
Tar who praised the group for recognizing the contributions of Ini Akpabio toward the success of Governor Emmanuel at the poll , his contribution to the growth in the Hospitality industry in Nigeria said the company would do its best to support the association’s proposed workshop on “Family life sensitization on the control of high birthrate in Nigeria” schedule to flag off in Abuja by August, 2015.
He described the group’s efforts as fantastic and laudable, adding that the activities of Young Professional Ladies Association complement the efforts of the federal government at tackling child abuse, prostitution, human trafficking and other forms of crime in our society, adding that government is really concern on curbing theses menace.
Earlier in her address, the National President of Young Professional Ladies Association, Ms. Blessing Michael said they were in Akpabio’s office to identify with Governor Emmanuel successes at the poll and to recognize the Group Managing Director of Nanet Group -Ini Akpabio- for his contributions toward the successes of the Governor as well as Akpabio’s contributions to the growth of Hospitality industry in Nigeria.
So far the association has over the years carried out activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa states respectively. Currently, “we have activities scheduled for the entire 36 states as part of our efforts to curb the menace and empower the Nigerian women,” Michael added.
