Sixteen people have died and 10 others injured in a twin suicide attack on Wednesday morning in Damaturu, the Yobe capital.

Alhaji Musa Idi, Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Damaturu.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the explosions took place around the state Ministry of Housing Quarters and Buhari Housing Estate in Damaturu.

Sources at Buhari estate said that two teenage suicide bombers were identified as being behind the explosion in the area which led to the death of five people.

NAN disclosed that two earlier explosions at the ministry of housing quarters led to the death of 11 people including the suicide bombers.

NAN reports that normalcy has returned to the state capital as schools opened while workers and businessmen went about their normal business.
