Chairman, Council of Yoruba Traditional Rulers in the 19 Northern States and Abuja, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo, has called on all Yorubas’ in the north to intensify prayers for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration towards ending insurgency.
Arigbabuwo made the call while speaking with journalists in Kaduna, yesterday.
He urged residents to support and rally round President Buhari to develop and move the nation forward.
Arigbabuwo commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, GOC 1 Div., Major General Adeniyi, and other security agencies for their efforts in bringing peace to all the affected areas in the north.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to give those in authority wisdom to be able to fulfill their campaign promises to the people and also to have the fear of God in running the affairs of the country.
The chairman reiterated his earlier call on Yoruba leaders in the South-West to be cautious in whatever action they take on national issues in other not to create problems in the country.
He said now that the people that allegedly kidnapped a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Chief Olu Falae, have been arrested, leaders in the South-West should wait for the outcome of the case, rather than making comments capable of throwing the nation into chaos.
Ambassador Arigbabuwo also commiserated with the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Kabir Usman, over the death of his chief palace guard in a motor accident.
He said the entire Yorubas’ in the north are saddened over the development and prayed to Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
