Agbonlahor has called on
young medical scientists
in the country to maintain
professionalism in the
discharge of their duties.
The former Chairman of
Medical Laboratory Scientists
Council of Nigeria, MLSCN,
gave this call in Abuja
weekend at the Young Medical
Laboratory Scientists Forum,
7th National Summit with
the theme: ‘’ the role of young
professional in achieving the
sustainable development
Agbonlahor who was
chairman of the occasion
enjoined all bodies within the
association must work closely
so they can continuously
grow’’, adding that the young
professionals should be
guided to join their elders in
the profession and leaders
of Association of Medical
Laboratory Scientists of
Nigeria, AMLSN.
He said , ‘’ as you grow and
aspire to lead the profession in
future, go there and work hard
to surpass what your forefathers
did in the profession.’’
National Coordinator of
YMLSF, Osamudiamen Daniel
said that the forum as an
umbrella of the AMLSN have
consistently embarked on
educational programmes in
pursuit of professionalism.
He said that in line with
the theme of the summit the
sustainable Development Goals
shows the gross deficiencies
that Nigeria still has to catch up
particularly in healthcare.
Meanwhile Guest speaker of
the occasion, Senator Joshua
Lidani has cautioned medical
laboratory scientists against
wrong diagnosis as it could
lead to deaths of Nigerians.
Lidani said, ‘’ as youths you
have a big role to play to make
a distinction and maintain the
standard , adding that they
should be known for integrity
during laboratory tests so that
people will believe results from
the labs.’’
You need to ensure correct
diagnosis and tests as a lot
of deaths have occurred as a
result of wrong diagnosis, he
