Police Parade Suspected Criminals In Calabar

YOUTH Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, has applauded the police and other security agencies for working round the clock to ensure the release of two out of the three pastors abducted by unknown gunmen in Kaduna State.
National chairman of the association, Engr. Daniel Kadzai who gave the commendation in a chat with newsmen in Lafia at the weekend, called on the federal government and the security agencies to redouble their efforts towards the security of the lives of the citizenry.
The youth leader, however, regretted the death of one of the abducted pastors, Reverend Iliya Anto who died in the kidnapers den, saying that the death was a great loss to the entire Christians in the country and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
On the forthcoming CAN national election, Kadzai revealed that the TEKAN/ECWA block had already nominated Reverend (Dr) Jeremiah Gado through an internal election where he scored 15 votes as against 12 polled by his opponent to emerge as TEKAN/ECWA’s candidate for the election.
He maintained that the process leading to the emergence of Reverend Gado were purely democratic, attributing the insinuations making the rounds that the nominee was hand-picked to the handiwork of mischief makers and enemies of the church.
Kadzai also debunked insinuations that some top government officials were sponsoring candidates for the national CAN election and appealed to the electoral college for the forthcoming election to be transparent and provide a level playing ground for all the contestants for the interest of peace and unity in CAN.
