Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Zamfara State command, recorded 2,725 cases in 2015.
This was made known by the state commandant, Abdullahi Abubakar, while addressing newsmen yesterday on his command’s activities and achievements last year in Gusau, the state capital.
The NSCDC boss said some of the cases recorded included civil matters, criminal cases among others.
He explained that out of the total of 2, 725 cases recorded by the command, 2,116 were treated, 255 cases still ongoing while a total of N50,380,545 case was involved, stressing that a total of N43, 312,270 was recovered by the command.
On the command’s action plan for this year, the NSCDC boss stated that he would focus on anti-vandalisation and illegal mining, adding that already the command’s action plan had been put in place to know the profile of the actors involved in vandalisation acts, particularly their location, groups for proper monitoring and documentation.
He said all areas leading to cross border of Zamfara State like Zurmi and Birnin-Magaji would be put under the NSCDC eagle eyes to prevent easy access to PMS by cattle rustlers and other bandits who terrorise some parts of the state.
“Acts like fuel diversion to cattle rustling or Yansakai gangs even to Niger Republic, black marketing as well as adulteration of all kinds will be monitored and decisively dealt with as our corps is ready to effect prosecution of suspects,” he stressed.
He then cautioned religious groups who are trying to encourage fanaticism especially in Mafara, Tsafe and some part of Gusau local government areas to stop from doing so as his Corps will watch extensively to any religious groups to identify sects that seem to encourage any form of fanaticism in the state for necessary measure.
